A private, offline-first Android music player built for local audio — with background playback, an integrated 5-band equalizer, gesture controls, and no accounts, ads, or network dependency.
A private, offline-first music player for Android, built for the audio already on your device.
Music Player is designed around a simple idea: local music playback should not need an account, a backend, a streaming service, or a layer of unnecessary complexity.
Music Player automatically discovers local audio through Android's MediaStore and provides a focused playback experience built entirely around on-device APIs.
The dedicated Now Playing screen is built around gestures rather than a crowded control panel.
Version 1.0.0 includes a real five-band equalizer powered by Android's native AudioEffect framework.
Available presets:
This is actual audio processing applied to playback output, not a cosmetic UI control.
Music Player is intentionally private and offline-first.
Your local music library stays on your device.
The app uses a dark-first interface with restrained visuals and clear interaction states.
There are no gradients, decorative colors, or unnecessary visual effects. The UI is designed to keep attention on the music and make playback controls feel immediate.
Phone and tablet layouts are handled separately so the interface remains usable across screen sizes.
Minimum Android version: Android 8.0 (API 26)
The first stable release intentionally focuses on local playback.
Custom playlists, queue reordering, folder-based browsing, and embedded album-art rendering are not part of the current release.
These are deliberate scope decisions for the current version and can be expanded in future releases without changing the core playback architecture.
