Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 16, 2026
This site is run by one person, for readers — not for advertisers. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what data is collected, why, and what isn't.
Reading the blog
You don't need an account to read anything on this site. Browsing the blog or the updates page doesn't collect your name, email, or any personal identifier.
Likes
Liking a post stores two things: a flag in your browser's local storage (so the button remembers you've liked it), and a one-way hashed version of your IP address on the server — used only to prevent the same visitor from inflating a like count. The hash cannot be reversed to recover your actual IP.
The Connect form
If you submit a message through the Connect, the following is stored so I can read and reply to it:
- Your name, email address, and message
- An approximate country and city, derived from your IP address at the time of submission
- The date and time of submission
This information is used solely to respond to you and is never sold, shared, or used for marketing. Approximate location is collected only to give context on who's reaching out — it is not precise enough to identify an exact address.
Third-party services
This site relies on a small number of infrastructure providers to run:
- Supabase — database and hosting for all content and submitted data
- ipapi.co / ip-api.com — approximate geolocation lookup for Connect form submissions
None of these services are used for advertising, retargeting, or selling data to third parties.
Cookies & local storage
This site uses minimal browser local storage — only to remember which posts you've liked. No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, no analytics pixels.
Data retention
Connect form submissions are kept so past conversations can be referenced. If you'd like your message and details deleted, reach out through the Connect and it will be removed.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in any meaningful way, the "Last updated" date above will reflect it. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
Contact
Questions about this policy, or a request to access or delete your data, can be sent through the Connect.
